String Theory
(2003 – ongoing)
French knitting – a seasonal practice over the winter months.
Exhibited as part of Pissing While (2022) in Idle Hands (2022), Blue Oyster Te Tio Kikorangi and Dirty Laundry: 13 artists and writers on invisible labour (2023), Toi Pōneke Arts Centre.
String Theory is an ongoing, emergent practice which speaks to the universe building potential of relationships. Yarn remainders collected from friends and collaborators, are stitched together using a wooden french knitting nancy. String Theory is a thread connecting us through time. A material connection to many relationships which have nourished, inspired, challenged and sustained me over the years.
